Other Works by Nancy Cowan

Nancy is from Dartmouth, NS CA, and told us of a wonderful story of collecting shells and then losing them in a move but that she still has some necklaces her mom brought back form Tahiti, Nassau and where she lived when she was a child.

The shells she says she mostly finds now are little periwinkles, the odd bit of sea urchin and she lucked out and found a teensy tiny sugar starfish.  She has incorporated some of the shells into this wonderful piece. "Mermaid's Tidal Pool"

Kristi Daniel's Latest Project

It is a porcelain sand dollar cab (from Michelle Heiss'   Cab Avenue http://www.beadartistry.com/CabAvenue set with 3 colors of 11's, peach 15's and embellished with peach fresh water pearls.   I had bought the 11's because I loved the colors and didn't have any idea what I was going to use them for the next night Michelle came over with the cab and it went perfectly with the beads.  Is that providence or what?  LOL

FIRSTBAG.jpg (62801 bytes) This is my first bag, done three years ago.   I was looking at my first Bead and Button and saw a graph of two drop peyote and thought I can do that and this is what I did. It's an original design. I call it "Me Melaque", after my favorite beach in Mexico. It is done in two drop peyote and embellished with shells I found on the beach, fresh water pearls and tiny starfish and coral branches .  There is a dolphin bead as the clasp because I use to swim with the dolphins in the bay. Up the strap are beads representing the plants and the birds. The one thing I left out is the sting ray that got me in my foot.  But no hard feelings, I stepped on it and it didn't like that.  And as any if you know who dive or snorkel they are friendly unless you step on them.  And also they are so very pretty when they mate, it's like butterflies flying one over the other, hundreds of them all around

COCKLE OF MY HEART.jpg (46290 bytes) Christine Despres of Nova Scotia

I finally finished the necklace with the shell that you sent me. It took me longer to figure out what I was going to do, than it took to do it. Once I started everything just flowed. I call this one "Cockle of My Heart". It might not be original, but it's a first for me. Thank you for the opportunity to try something new (but you might have created a monster!) Ha! Ha!

Yes it is the Beady Beach Bag

Cathy has been teaching this bag and making them in all different colors and embellished in wonderful ways.  She has add the luxuary of a silk lining to the process.  I think it is a fantastic little bag.
