Who Are We Anyway?
A little bit about SERENITY by DESIGN, Pat & Cathy, and the
Beady Beach Bums!
Pat was busy about 4 years ago, nursing in a chemical dependency ward And
Cathy was living in England and running her own Fireworks Co. Pat had a little wake
up call and had to give up nursing temporarily, she and her hubby moved to wonderful South
Padre Island, TX and there she sat. Then the beading bug bit. Inspired by the
Ocean and her love of the sea (and the need to support her beading habit) she opened
"Serenity By Design" and started placing her jewelry and amulet bags on the web
and in a local boutique. It started to grow and when she realized how hard it was to
find sea related beads and shells she started selling what she loves best. Then came
the addition of kits and patterns, and so it went.
In the fall of 1997, Cathy came from England to marry Pat's son Robert.
She came to see Pat and meet her new mother-in-law (and guess what?), She was
converted in about 10 minutes to beading. Not that she is giving up the idea of
Starting her own Fireworks company here in the States. That will come when Robert
retires from the Army in 3 to 4 years. Now they are in GA and have given us
grandchild number 7 Titanya. Cathy is a great business partner, daughter-in-law,
wife, mom and stepmother to #1 & # 2 grandchildren. She is also a bonifide BEADY
BEACH BUM and the family will be moving to South Padre Island when they leave the Army
behind.
