Shell Wind Chimes Leslie did a fantastic job
on this shell wind chime. You can here the tinkling of the fringe as it moves in the
wind. I just love it and am inspired to put it on my list of "to do"
projects.

Sealife amulet bag Prior
to beginning one of my prized bags, I will often spend days studying the world around me,
and tuning to mother nature. My beautiful garden at my Southern California home is a
strong influence on the choice of vivid colors and lively designs I use for each piece.
Being close to the beach only 2 miles away, I spend time walking along the shore gathering
shells and visualizing the designs I can draw from them.

Lighthouse Bag A lighthouse at the
top of a hill and the "keepers" house next door say it all. Birds flock in the
sky at midafternoon. Charms dangle with an abundance of seahorses, shells, silver dollars,
fish and starfish beneath a variety of beads and austrian crystals. The ocean and clouds
circle the back of the handbag - a full 360 degree panoramic view

Welcome to Shirlee Trefonoff's Gallery ! |

Sealife Vest According
to Shirlee, she is very busy making quilts and dolls. Although she has made an
occasional amulet bag this is one of the few wearable art pieces she has made. If
this is any indication WOW- what talent. The vest is an "original design"
(using pictures from the encyclopedia as a patterns. The coral in the center is real coral
from an old necklace that belonged to her mother (her sister purchased it in Hawaii in the
60's).
Shirlee doesn't have a web site but e-mail her at: mtref@cecomet.net |

Fishes Necklace and Earrings This
is the cutest set. Linda has such a wide variety of work on her site including
dreamcatchers, large pieces, and other things to come soon.
She relates her Comanche heritage on her site and is going to put her
daughter's regalia she dances in up one her web site. Her daughter dances as a
warrior in some arena's and was honored to have a song played in her honor to dance in the
forksville, Pennsylvania pow wow this summer.

Splendor in the Grass Necklace This
piece was featured at Emily's site in the gallery at about.com and I was so taken with the
way that Linda beaded around these little easter eggs.
When I contacted her she said it was adapted from Jeanie's book. She also
shared that she has many things presently on exhibit at the Baton Rouge LA library.

"Seahorse"
|
My little "Seahorse" comes from the
pattern on Emily's Reader's Gallery Page 31 at http://beadwork.about.com/
. I used bronze "Dynamites" for the seahorse with matte greens for
the background. Some of the charms came from my co-worker, Mary, who donated a necklace
and earrings that she didn't wear. The seahorse, sand dollar and starfish work perfectly
with the imitation coral ruffle! Thanks Mary!! Thanks Emily! You
can visit Liz's site at: www.geocities.com/Heartland/Flats/2003

"Orca"
|
Emily's "Orca" pattern really worked up
well. I used Dyna-mites for the whale and green mattes for the background. Okay, okay, so
I messed up the swirl background. I decided that I wasn't going to take it out - it's just
a wilder sea than the original. Fringe has shells and charms and beads and
crystals.....Although I keep playing with the idea of more fringe, I think that this
turned out really well |
